SURABAYA, May 18–19, 2026 — PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI), together with Asosiasi Emiten Indonesia (AEI) and GRI ASEAN Network, organized an intensive training program titled “Preparing for Climate Reporting through a Double Materiality Approach” at the East Java Representative Office of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia in Surabaya.
The program reflected a strategic collaboration between the stock exchange authority, listed company association, and global sustainability standard-setting organization in encouraging listed companies’ readiness to address increasingly comprehensive climate reporting requirements. A total of 43 listed companies from East Java and surrounding regions participated actively in the training.
The event was opened by representatives of BEI together with Gilman P. Nugraha, Executive Director of AEI. During the opening session, speakers discussed the development of sustainability reporting in Indonesia, the implementation of IDX ESG Metrics Reporting, and the ongoing revision of POJK No. 51/POJK.03/2017 as part of strengthening sustainability governance within the capital market.
The training continued with expert sessions from GRI ASEAN Network, providing in-depth understanding of the double materiality concept, an approach that assesses both the impact of sustainability issues on a company’s financial performance and the impact of corporate activities on environmental and social aspects. Participants also received insights regarding the integration of GRI Standards and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards S2 into corporate climate reporting.
On the second day, the training focused on practical implementation. Participants attended case study sessions and interactive exercises ranging from value chain mapping, mitigation plan development, to climate transition planning tailored to each company’s condition.
An industry sharing session was also delivered by Dodik Moerdijanto, Sustainability Section Head of PT Avia Avian Tbk, who shared practical experiences in implementing sustainability reporting within a public company environment.
Through the synergy between BEI, AEI, and GRI ASEAN Network, the training is expected to strengthen the capacity of Indonesian listed companies in preparing transparent, credible, and globally aligned climate reports, while also supporting the development of a green, resilient, and sustainable capital market ecosystem.
