APEI, AMII, and AEI Synergize to Develop the Indonesian Capital Market

Jakarta, March 12 2025 – The Indonesian Securities Companies Association (APEI), the Indonesian Investment Managers Association (AMII), and the Indonesian Issuers Association (AEI) officially entered into strategic cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which aims to strengthen and develop the Indonesian capital market. This collaboration is expected to expand the investor base, encourage additional emissions, and create a more sustainable capital markets industry.

This signing event was attended by key stakeholders in the capital markets industry, including the Chair of APEI, Arisandhi Indrodwisatio, Chair of AMII, Hanif Mantiq, and General Chair of AEI, Armand Wahyudi Hartono. In their remarks, the association leaders emphasized that synergy between securities companies, investment managers and issuers is very important in building a more inclusive and competitive capital market ecosystem.

There are three main focuses in this collaboration, namely:

  1. Encouraging Expansion of Mutual Fund Market Access
APEI and AMII are committed to increasing the number of Mutual Fund Selling Agents (APERD) and Mutual Fund Marketing Outlets by providing assistance to APEI members who wish to obtain permits as APERD. This step is expected to support the growth of the mutual fund industry in Indonesia.
  2. Increasing Issuer Participation in Capital Market Development
AEI will encourage its members to be more active in creating securities to support industrial growth and maintain a balance between supply and demand in the Indonesian capital market.
  3. Increasing Financial Literacy and Inclusion
The three associations will work together in financial literacy and inclusion programs, especially in education on capital market investments such as shares, bonds and mutual funds. The aim of this program is to increase public understanding and attract more investors to the Indonesian capital market.

Association Leaders Statement

APEI General Chair Coordinator, Arisandhi Indrodwisatio, stated, “We believe that this collaboration will bring great benefits to the Indonesian capital markets industry. By expanding access to capital market products and increasing financial literacy, we can attract more investors to participate in the capital markets.”

Meanwhile, AMII Chairman, Hanif Mantiq, added, "This collaboration will strengthen the synergy between securities companies and investment managers, thereby creating a more efficient and attractive capital market ecosystem for investors."

AEI General Chair, Armand Wahyudi Hartono, also emphasized AEI's commitment to supporting inclusive capital market growth. "AEI will continue to motivate and encourage our members to issue quality securities with good governance. A strong capital market will be an important pillar for the national economy."

As a first step, APEI, AMII and AEI will form a working team to follow up on the various initiatives stated in this MoU. The three associations will also prepare an annual calendar of activities to monitor the development of cooperation and ensure effective implementation.

This collaboration is expected to be an important milestone in increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Indonesian capital market at the national and international levels.
