JAKARTA, April 9, 2026 – The Association of Indonesian Listed Companies (Asosiasi Emiten Indonesia - AEI), in collaboration with the Center for Environmental, Social, and Governance Studies (CESGS) at Universitas Airlangga, successfully held the ESG Talk Series #7 titled "Building Trust Through ESG: Strategic Stakeholder Engagement & Communication" on Thursday (9/4) via Zoom Meeting.

This initiative is part of a joint commitment to encourage the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles that go beyond mere compliance, focusing instead on full integration into corporate business strategies.

Synergy in Building Sustainability

The event commenced with opening remarks from Aditya Aji Prabhawa, Managing Director of CESGS Sustainability Consulting & Capacity Building. He emphasized that ESG has evolved into a strategic necessity for organizations seeking business resilience.

"Cross-stakeholder collaboration and strengthening organizational capacity are essential to ensure that ESG implementation is effective and delivers a tangible impact," Aditya stated.

Following his remarks, the Executive Director of AEI, Gilman P. Nugraha, reinforced the importance of building "trust" as the primary foundation of ESG. He noted that effective engagement and transparent communication are key elements in strengthening a company's credibility in the eyes of both the public and global investors.

Integrating Stakeholders into Strategic Decisions

As the keynote speaker, Fandis Ekyawan, SE., MM.—Senior Consultant & Business Coach from the Management Institute, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia—delivered a comprehensive presentation on the vital role of strategic stakeholder engagement.

Fandis asserted that stakeholder involvement must be an integral part of the strategic decision-making process, rather than just a supporting activity. He highlighted that consistent and effective communication plays a crucial role in building long-term trust and enhancing the quality of ESG implementation.

Interactive Dialogue and Wide Participation

The discussion was moderated by S. Herry Putranto, CEO of Biro Nusaprima, who ensured a dynamic session and provided deep exploration for the attendees.

The event drew a diverse audience, including corporate professionals, ESG practitioners, academics, and students. Beyond gaining strategic insights, participants also received e-certificates as a token of appreciation for their engagement.

Through the ongoing ESG Talk Series, AEI and CESGS Universitas Airlangga remain committed to fostering a deeper understanding of ESG practices in Indonesia, contributing to a business ecosystem that is more transparent, accountable, and sustainable.
