IHSG in the Era of President Jokowi's Leadership: Economic Dynamics and Resilience

During the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s leadership, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) experienced fluctuations that reflected the challenges and resilience of the Indonesian economy. In Jokowi's first term (2014-2019), the JCI was influenced by a number of economic policies, including ambitious economic reform and infrastructure development programs. However, global commodity price fluctuations and the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate put pressure on the JCI performance.

Entering the second period (2019-2024), the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the biggest challenges for the JCI. At the start of the pandemic, the JCI fell to its lowest point, reflecting global and national economic shocks. However, the economic stimulus policy implemented by the government and the massive vaccination program succeeded in helping the JCI to recover gradually.

Apart from that, global factors such as rising interest rates in the United States and fluctuations in commodity prices also had a big influence on the JCI performance. Overall, despite experiencing major challenges, the JCI demonstrated strong resilience under Jokowi's leadership, reflecting the ability of the Indonesian economy to adapt to various global dynamics.
