ESG Talks Series #3 Webinar Successfully Held: Discussing the Importance of Human Rights Due Diligence to Create a Fairer Workplace

Jakarta, 28 April 2025 — The Center for Environmental, Social, and Governance Studies (CESGS) together with the Indonesian Issuers Association (AEI) successfully held Webinar ESG Talks Series #3 titled "Road to Labor Day: How Human Rights Due Diligence Shapes Fairer Workplaces." This event was held online via the Zoom platform and succeeded in attracting the participation of 173 participants from various professional and industrial backgrounds.

The webinar opened with remarks from Gilman P. Nugraha, Executive Director of AEI, who emphasized the importance of the company's commitment to respecting human rights, in line with the momentum of Labor Day. Meanwhile, Aditya Aji Prabawa, Managing Director of CESGS, said that implementing Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) is an important step to encourage sustainable and ethical business practices.

In the main session, Fajar Kristanto Gautama Putra, SA, MA, as Managing Director of Research and Innovation CESGS, appeared as the main speaker. Guided by Abdul Fatah as moderator, Fajar discussed various important aspects related to HRDD, starting from the urgency of implementing ethics in modern business, understanding the concept of HRDD, to how to integrate HRDD into company policies, risk management and daily decision making. He also discussed the business value that can be obtained from implementing HRDD effectively.

This webinar is part of CESGS and AEI's ongoing efforts to strengthen the business world's awareness of the importance of respecting human rights, as well as creating a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable workplace.
