PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk d/h PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) began in 1970 when the Spanish company, Enadimsa, submitted a bid for a coal concession in Block 8 in Tanjung Regency, South Kalimantan. The company was named 'Adaro' in honor of a Spanish family involved in mining. The Adaro Group primarily runs coal mining operations in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan, with coal resources of 4 billion tonnes and coal reserves of 1 billion tonnes. This group has 30 subsidiaries, such as Adaro Mineral, Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa, IndoMet Coal, Kalteng Coal, and Adaro Power.
