PT Era Media Sejahtera Tbk (Space): Leader of Transportation Advertising Media in Indonesia

PT Era Media Sejahtera Tbk (Space) has established itself as one of the largest advertising companies in Indonesia, especially in advertising media that focuses on transportation. In the latest episode of the Bincang Emiten podcast held by the Indonesian Issuers Association, the Main Director of Space, Mr Viktor Aritonang, explained the company's journey, vision and strategy after being listed on the stock exchange in May 2023.

 

From Agency to Media Owner

Initially, Space operated as an advertising agency. However, this company has transformed into a media owner by managing various advertising inventories such as out-of-home (OOH) and digital out-of-home (DOOH). This transformation provides greater flexibility and competitiveness in creating effective campaigns.

 

The IPO which will be held in 2023 is a strategic step for Space to expand. With the funds obtained, Space increases advertising inventory and expands reach to various regions in Indonesia.

Advertising Inventory in Transportation

One of Space's advantages is its advertising inventory in transportation corridors. Some examples are:

TV screen on the Jabodetabek KRL

Reaching 1–1.2 million passengers per day, these ads on TV screens provide a large exposure to car users.

Long Distance Trains

The campaign includes body branding, seat covers and activation at stations, reaching passengers from socio-economic classes 1 to 3.

Outdoor Media (OOH)

Including billboards, billboards, LED pylons and other media scattered on protocol roads in Indonesia.

Innovative Approaches to Advertising

Space creates advertising that is closely related to retail distribution. For example, in station or market areas, Space integrates advertising with the presence of merchants or tenants. This allows customers to transact immediately after seeing an ad, creating a more effective relationship between brand and consumer.

Collaboration with Pasar Jaya in 153 traditional markets in Jakarta is one example of how Space bridges advertising needs with the potential for direct transactions.

 

Challenges and Strategies

The biggest challenge in the advertising industry is maintaining creativity and uniqueness. Ads that are easily duplicated require an innovative approach to stay relevant. Space answers this challenge by presenting campaigns that are strategic, creative and tailored to different target audiences.
