Jakarta, April 8 2025 — General Chair of the Indonesian Issuers Association (AEI), Armand Wahyudi Hartono, was present at the event Economic Gathering with the President of the Republic of Indonesia which was held at Menara Mandiri, Jakarta. This event has a theme "Strengthening National Economic Resilience Amid Waves of Trade Tariff Wars", which was held in response to global economic challenges, especially the impact of the trade tariff policy issued by US President, Donald Trump.
Armand Wahyudi Hartono said that the event was a valuable opportunity to discuss how Indonesia can face global economic challenges through close collaboration between the government and economic actors, including national issuers. As Chair of AEI, Armand emphasized the importance of stronger synergy between the government and business actors in facing this uncertain economic situation.
In his view, Indonesia has the potential to strengthen economic resilience and national competitiveness, as long as there is good cooperation between various parties. He also added that forums like this are very important, considering that economic actors need clear information and clarification regarding the steps that will be taken by the government in dealing with the rapidly changing global situation.
Apart from that, Armand believes that this event provides space for market players to communicate directly with the government and gain a deeper understanding of the policies that will be implemented. With this forum, he hopes that all parties can take appropriate steps to maintain Indonesia's economic stability.
The presence of a number of important figures at this event, including President Prabowo Subianto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani, and Chairman of DEN Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, is proof of the government's seriousness in creating synergy between the public and private sectors to face existing economic challenges.
Armand Wahyudi Hartono also hopes that the government will soon announce an official stance on the US tariff policy which will come into effect on April 9 2025. This will provide clarity for market players in making investment decisions that will support Indonesia's future economic growth.
As Chair of AEI, Armand expressed his commitment to continue to support the government's efforts to maintain a conducive investment climate and strengthen the national economy. He hopes that, through the synergy built in this forum, Indonesia can continue to develop and become more resilient in facing global economic challenges.
